Our hall is asking for money...
by thedepressedsoul ini guess the branch isn't happy with the amount being sent each month since we are way lower than our loan amount.
we now have to another financial survey to see the max amount that can be given.
it is "encouraged" for all to be in attendance and give much forethought and consideration to the amount you can donate each month.

Page 6 of the September 2015 Public WT, under the heading "How is our ministry financed"
Our work is supported entirely by voluntary donations. (2 Corinthians 9:7) In 1879, the second issue of this magazine stated: “‘Zion’s Watch Tower’ [as this magazine was then called] has, we believe JEHOVAH for its backer, and while this is the case it will never beg nor petition men for support.” We have not wavered from that policy. -

Same here. When I read it seven years ago - It took me 2 days. I closed it and suggested to my wife we leave. Of course leaving to about 9 months for further research and to make sure my wife and kids left with me...But it confirmed all my decades of doubt indeed. -

Teddy Hero Worship Continues -- Sept 15 Study Edition Bio on Melita Jaracz
by LostGeneration invery weird article, you can read it here if you can tolerate such nonsense:.
http://www.jw.org/en/publications/magazines/w20150915/melita-jaracz-blessing-in-life/.
basically teddy was a super, duper spiritual giant who went undercover behind the iron curtain, sorta james bond like.

From what I gather her parents were the typical persons to be approached by this cult. Having just lost a child, being disappointed in religion, then they were approached by a witness with all the Answers and a hope to see their child again. If her brother had not died, she would never have been a witness.
Further, I think her and Teddy likely had little sexual activity going on in the bedroom. Instead of going down on her, Teddy went down on his knees to pray - first he prayed for them both, then they prayed separately, then Teddy would pray again himself on his knees. I cannot imagine after that whole process, that one is in the mood.
I am sure that she misses being married to a GB member, she went from being a celebrity to just another older female at Bethel. Amazed they even devoted this article to her.

Preparing for Governing Body 3.0? Making older GB step down? (New September Watchtower)
by FusionTheism inwatchtower, study edition, september 2015, "are you reaching the stature that belongs to christ?":.
paragraph 6: the mature christian shows humility in that he recognizes that jehovahs ways and standards are always better than his own.
[footnote: for example, older, experienced brothers may be asked to step aside from certain responsibilities and to lend support to younger brothers as they take on those responsibilities.].

As sir82 said, this is to address the older COBE's that have had to step down per the new guidelines of September 2014. This does not apply to the GB. Do as I say, but not as I do. -

How Much Do Circuit Overseers Make Under the Table, and is it Taxable?
by Tazemanian-devil ini was thinking about green handshakes, and i knew my wife and i personally would try to slide at least $100 each c.o visit to the c.o.
if we were low on cash, we'd never hand him less than $20.
how many of such handshakes does he receive in a weeks time?
-

I would give the CO normally a handshake of $150. Once we had the DO visit and while I was working with him in service, he was explaining all the expenses they had. I had just got a nice bonus from work and gave him a $500 envelope. What a waste. The CO went more often on vacation than I did and the DO was shortly thereafter DFed.
i know of one CO who bought a house cash when he retired. They are well off. I am sure the same goes for all higher ups, especially the GB.
